When I started blogging 6 years ago, I lived a structured life that was overscheduled with therapy, group therapy and activities that were outside of my comfort zone such as dance classes and self-development. About 3 years ago, per my therapist suggestion I started to let go of my structured schedule and activities. It was subtle. I started to go to less meetings, I didn’t sign up for new classes, I shifted my focus to other things such as podcasting, spending time with friends, etc.
Now my schedule is lighter. I go to work. I spend my evenings reading books. I cook my meals. I go to therapy every other month. It’s good but not exciting.
When I decided to start blogging again, it was the intention that I would adopt a mentality that I would step outside of my comfort zone again. It’s been years since I made a conscious choice to do things outside of my comfort zone. I miss the thrill of learning a new skill, trying something new.
So what’s outside of my comfort zone?
- Cooking classes
- Dance classes other than barre
- Going to see live shows such as Broadway, concerts, etc.
- Making new friends
Tonight, I am attending a pasta making class which I will blog about it next week. I will be adding more classes and activities as they come up.
