Six years ago, I started this blog as an experiment of self-discovery.
Back in the day I used to share my adventures living in NYC as tried new things such as fitness classes, burlesque, etc.
My life evolve into starting a career coaching business and subsequently a podcast. I enjoyed both but if I am completely honest I lost myself the moment I starting to sell things. It was no longer me living. The blog became a place of transaction. I lost the excitement about sharing what I enjoy.
Over the past six months, I stopped podcasting and working on my business altogether. I found myself after a terrible burnout season losing the inspiration to share. I retreaded back into my life. I stopped engaging in social media and shifted the focus back to my friends. Things today are much better. I have found some balance by focusing on the things that brings me joy.
I want this blog to go back to the beginning. I want it to be place of accountability and inspiration. I want to start blogging about the things that matter to me without the emphasis of trying to sell a product or a service.
Moving forward, I am renaming my blog back to Joyful Shimmy. I am going to blog at least once a week about my adventures in NYC, the books that I am currently reading, trips that I am taking, and how I tackle my life one day at a time. My goal is to inspired you to take action in your life as you get to see my own adventures.
For the Say Yes Podcast, I will start to release new episodes on a weekly basis every Monday, starting February 6, 2017.
