The author of Wish I Were Here reached out to see if I was interested in reading this book. It consisted of a Euro trip which is one of my favorite things to do so I was gamed.
The book takes place in a strange euro trip done through motorcycle by the main character Savannah and her lover/psychiatrist and an odd group of acquaintances.
Savannah is 40 years old yet she acts like she is 13 years old. She is involved in an inappropriate relationship with her psychiatrist. She is supposedly going through grief after her ex boyfriend dies. She gets involved in this relationship and accepts the offer to come on this trip.
I was dissapointed about the lack of places and experiences that the main character had throughout her trip. Her only redeeming factor was her short stint to Paris and the ending. Otherwise, the setting could have been anywhere.
I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.
I wished the author would have spent more time developing the character and pushing them to growth as opposed to go on tangents about aliens, Rick Steves and psychosis.
Disclosure: I received this book for free in exchange of an honest review.
