The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.
Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.
This is a new adult romance story of Abby and Travis Maddox. Travis is a bad boy who is a straight A student who makes money fighting. He has a revolving door of women until he meets Abby. Even though they have an instant connection they start their relationship as friends.
After losing a bet, Abby ends up living with Travis for a month. Her feelings grow and on the last day of the bet she ends up sleeping with Travis. Their relationship shifted from friendship to romantic. Throughout the story their is a pattern of Abby running away from Travis and Travis following her to get back together. There is a happily ever after.
A few questions that I had around this book include the location of the book. What happens to Abby’s dad?
I was glad that I read this book. I gave it 3 stars as there was a bit too much angst in this book. The running away schtick got repetitive.
I am actually looking forward reading the books about Travis brothers in the Maddox series.
